309s is a lower carbon variant of 309 stainless steel used where welding is required. The lower carbon content minimizes carbide precipitation in the heat-affected zone near the weld, which can lead to intergranular corrosion (weld erosion) of stainless steel in some environments.
It can withstand repeated heating below 980 °C, and has high high temperature strength, oxidation resistance and carburization resistance.Widely used in boilers, energy (nuclear power, thermal power, fuel cells), industrial furnaces, incinerators, heating furnaces, chemical, petrochemical and other important fields.
